Application Rates of Alroc Mineral Fertiliser

Type of Land - Amount
Broad acre pasture - 100 to 200 kg per hectare.
Improved pasture - 200 kg per hectare.
Small crops and orchards - 300 to 500kg per hectare.
Vegetable Gardens - 1 handful per square metre.
Fruit trees and vines - 1 to 6kg per tree per year, spread around the drip line.

A remineralisation program should be run for at least three years. After this time rates of application can be reduced, as the soil will have built up good mineral levels. The best results often come after a seasons application of Alroc. Alroc minerals should be used in conjunction with other sustainable farming practices, e.g. legume and manure cropping, crop rotations and minimum tillage methods. Minerals are just one of the keys to sustainable farming.

Alroc minerals can, in no-way, harm our soils, the environment, animals or people, they can only add to the overall mineral content. After all, our soils are mainly ground up rock. Alroc has no chemical additives and therefore will not burn plants even if higher application rates are used. Some grazier's put Alroc in water troughs and salt licks as a tonic for livestock.

The results from Alroc depend on several factors.
Variables to take into consideration:-

* Ph
o Acid soils - quick release
o Neutral soils - slow release
o Alkaline soils - slow release

* Prior paddock history
o High fertiliser inputs
o Low fertiliser inputs
o Types of fertiliser use

* When applied
o as a pre-plant (broadcast)
o on the root zone (planting)
o lead time before planting

* Microbial activity
o high levels of microbes - faster response
o low levels - will benefit from ACTIV-8 soil microbe activation program
